Welliver provided Construction Management services for a new two-story Public Safety Center, a specialized project serving the various emergency response organizations, local industry, and municipal government in the County/Region including fire, medical, law enforcement, and planning commission.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is comprised of the County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and 911 Communications, the County Sheriff’s Department, and the County Planning Offices. Bradford County also migrated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to this facility. In addition, the new public safety center incorporates various training components including classroom technology and public meeting rooms. The department covers all of Bradford County 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It provides support for citizens and first responders through resource and incident response coordination, emergency communications, and training.
Of significance to Bradford County was the need to plan and design a state-of-the-art facility for the County’s EOC. The facility was designed to operate in the event of a natural or manmade emergency. As such, a hardened, resilient, secure, and technologically capable facility was envisioned.
The Center also provides space for the relocation of the County’s Sheriff’s Department and the County’s Planning Department.
